EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITES

Academics:

Potioneer's Guild
Astronomy Club
Charms Club

These would likely meet once a week and discuss latest discoveries, plan contests and projects like science fairs...kinda like astronomy clubs and chemistry clubs in Muggle schools.

-

Pastimes/arts:

Gobstones Club.
Choir (with limited traditional drums and possibly flute and/or bagpipes)
Chess Guild
Social Club

Gobstones and chess would be just like chess clubs in Muggle worlds, with meets and competitions and discussions of strategies...whatever chess clubs do. Choir practices for performances at school for things like Halloween and Christmas, and maybe even travel once in a while for competitions. The social club is self explanatory.

-

Sports:

Quidditch
Creaothceann (Made legal once more in 2011, with some modifications to the game)
Broomstick racing
Dueling Club
Commentator (for all sports)

Everyone knows of Quidditch, so there's no point in explaining...hehe. The dueling club would be much like in Book 2 except with a decent instructor. (Anyone playing a teacher that wants to do dueling club let the GMs know, and we'll review). And the racing is self explanatory, also.

Creaothceann, now, is a sport played in Scotland in "olden" times that involved 6 players on each team with cauldrons strapped to their heads, and boulders suspended 100 feet above the players. Players had to catch as many as possible in their cauldrons...he who survived the game and had the most stones in his cauldron was the winner. it was outlawed in the 1700s, but has been revived...with some modifications to make it not so deadly. Things like maximum weight of the stones, maximum height dropped, and safety equipment. I imagine each house would have a team.
