NOTE 1

Hyperaudio:

This child is a hyperaudio clan Lunattack, which means he/she has extraordinary hearing. Adults can hear normal sounds at two miles, and a whisper at one. If you don't want this child to hear something, don't say it, unless he's visiting grandma out of town.

Another caution with hyperaudio children, and this is the most important one. 'Audios can hear subsonic and ultrasonic noises. The subsonic sounds are no danger at all, but the ultrasonic ones will cause immediate, excruciating pain in an 'audio's head and ear canals, and it can deafen or even kill them if it goes on too long. If you adopt an audio, it is recommended that you ask your local government if there are laws anywhere prohibiting items that can make this kind of sound, and consider moving there. They must be at least five miles away for them to be absolutely no threat.

Also you must have the vehicles and machinery around your home tested for such noises, before you will be allowed to adopt.

NOTE 2

This youth is of a species not registered with CONTROL, but is close in physicality to those of the planet of Plundaar. If you live in a place that outlaws ultra-sonic noises, you may not adopt this youngster, as he unconsciously emits them. For the same reason, if you have hyperaudios in your family or neighborhood, you may not adopt him. Also...he does fly.

NOTE 3

This child came from a nearby trauma/handicap center, where they care for handicapped children. The center was hit by a nasty windstorm, and half of it was destroyed. (No one was hurt badly.) They hadn't room for everyone, so we got three of the kids come to live at Adamante. Two have been adopted; the girl, who is blind, has yet to find a home.

NOTE 4

These children were found in an orphanage by an ally of Adamante's, and taken from the facility because they were mistreating the children, and Adamante took in many of them. Among other medical problems, they were badly ill-fed, and may need medical treatment from those who adopt them. There were a lot of twins and throwback Thunderians there, and even the Mutants were a bit more feral than normal, such as the ltitle hyena cub with very long arms and legs like a feral creature. Care must be taken with those who adopt these ones. Their pasts are unknown, but if anyone cares to adopt and wishes to know, we can research.

NOTE 5

Fire Lunattacks are, interestingly, a split-off from the ice clans. Sometime in their evolution, while discovering their fire powers, they split off into two divergent groups. The ice clans moved to the colder regions and developed ice powers, though remnants of the fire abilities remain in over half the population. The fire clans remains in the equatorial regions, developing their fire powers.

Very young fire-clan Lunattacks have no control over their powers, and while the powers are weak at a young level, they can be a threat. Once they are five or six years old, they are able to control them nearly all the time; the only time they might slip is while asleep. Fire-clans are immune to fire, but the child's bedroom must be fireproof to ensure the safety of the household.

For very young ones, there are special types of clothing that have been developed by CONTROL to keep their powers from extending beyond their own person. They do not harm of affect the child, onlt keep their "slips" containted to their body only. And remember, fire will do them no harm whatsoever. A great many fire-clans become firefighters and get into other fire-based careers for this very reason.

There was a recent epidemic in one of the fire-clan villages, and several children were orphanaed - some of them came to Adamante.
